QUAD: How did you get started as an ATV filmmaker and when?
WES:: I started out as a rider first. I raced three and four-wheelers most of my life and ended up riding in a couple videos in the mid-90’s. After that, I decided to do my own film. It started with Quatros Locos and then Huevos Grandes. The Huevos series has just snowballed from there.
QUAD: You’ve made 9 Huevos videos now. How does the first one compare to the latest one?
WES:The first video, we were still learning a lot of things. But when I look back at it, there are still some great shots and huge jumps. I think the biggest difference is the later films are much more polished and stylized.
QUAD: What’s the craziest shoot you’ve ever been on?
WES: I think the craziest shoot is still from Huevos 1. Matt Coulter flew in from England to Vegas. Carey Hart had a huge double built in the desert. Matt borrowed a Banshee from this racer Charlie Renee and did the jump. It was in the 150-175 foot range and is probably the biggest jump I have ever seen anyone do on a quad.
QUAD:What’s your favorite spot to shoot quads in action?
WES:I don’t really have just one place. It’s hard to pick one when you have seen so many different places to ride. I like unique looking locations or places with huge hits.
QUAD:What’s your favorite thing about ATVs and the industry?
WES: I love riding and just getting away from the pressures of everyday life. Through the years I have made a lot of friends in the industry and I enjoy just hanging with my bro’s.
