With today’s high-performance four-stroke engines, especially Honda’s 450R, the best thing you can do is keep the air filter clean. This should be a no-brainer, but it’s important enough for us to explain in detail. You should clean and oil your filter after every ride. Use high-quality, high-tack air filter oil liberally, and your quad’s valves will stay strong and in good shape longer, as well as the cylinder, rings, and piston. Trust us, it’s easier to clean the filter every weekend than to adjust valves and replace top-end components.
