Tip of the Day: Mud Cleanup

You should prep for mud riding before even getting the bottom of your boots dirty. Before hitting the pit, spray your quad down with a silicone spray…in the past we’ve even used Pam cooking spray on our quad to keep the mud from sticking to it. This will make your post-pit cleanup much easier. The mud should fall right off with a good pressure washing. And of course, wash your quad immediately after mud riding. You can bring a pressure washer with you (if you have a water hookup) or you can run through a car wash and hose it down there. Don’t let that glop dry on your quad for even an hour, because it’ll be ten times harder to clean off once it’s solidified.

I tried Armour All - mud stuck to it worse! I heard about the foaming Armour All, but that stuff’s expensive - haven’t tried it. I’ll have to try the cooking spray. Purple Power (after you wash the heavy stuff off) will make it look like new - spray on and rinse off!
