Friday 5: Milestone MX Park

This week we headed down to Milestone MX Park, a new motocross track in Riverside, CA. This track is going to have everything you could ever want, and quads are more than welcome. QUAD: Tell us about the history of Milestone?

Milestone MX: Milestone started out as a thoroughbred racehorse training facility. It was an old time family business. We turned it into a motocross track when someone mentioned it should become a racetrack. We checked into it, it made sense so we did it.

QUAD: So tell us a bit about the track now?

Milestone MX: You’re looking at a five-year project that is a combination of 55 acres, 2 million dollars, and a huge staff. We have seven tracks including a quad track, sand drag strip (perfect for all those banshee guys), dirt bike pro, vet, peewee, pit bike, and RC car tracks.

QUAD: What’s next for the track?

Milestone MX: Now that we have the track for practice, we are getting it ready for events. Getting the starting gates up is priority number one. We also want to get our lights finished up so we can entertain at night. In October we have a motocross race scheduled and a few more throughout the rest of the year. Once we finish the lights, and starting gate we can get some quad events going too. Right now we have 60 entries a day at the drag strip, so we want to get the light tree in so we can get everyone’s times.

QUAD: When can quad riders come down and check out the track?

Milestone MX: Saturday is the day people can come down and ride the quad track. Tuesday through Sunday anyone can come down and try out the Sand Drag.

QUAD: Anything else you want to let people know about?

Milestone MX: We just want people to know we really want to give the quad community something that they have been missing for a while—a local place in SoCal they can call home for a motocross track. We also want to provide a nearby place for the Glamis crowd who love hopping up their Banshees with our dragstrip. We want to touch on all the groups; the quad track can also be used for Rhino racing.

So we want the quad guys to know they have somewhere local and their support will stimulate more opportunities. If we get more guys coming in on Saturday it could open up another day in the week. We would love to see that track open 5 days a week only to quads.
