Inside The GYTR Yamaha YFZ450R Head

Last week we had quite a bit of news on the site about Yamaha’s hot new YFZ450R performance quad. In case you missed it, we rode the machine in SoCal for a couple of days during Yamaha’s media intro (and if you missed our impressions, click here). While we were at the event we met up with Philip Lash, who is Yamaha’s ATV and SxS Accessory Product Line Manager. We talked to Philip about the unique new high-performance head being offered through GYTR. Here’s what he had to say.

“The key point to make here is that GYTR accessories are integrated with the unit. In the past, or with other brands, customers purchase the unit then have to piece together different performance items that may or may not work well together. With the GYTR performance head assembly, the performance is optimized and works as a complete package with other GYTR items; be it piston, pipe, air filter, ECU, clutch components, etc.”

There’s no doubt that the head (in conjunction with the other engine mods) makes a huge difference in performance. Our test rider Dustin Terry took a machine with all the GYTR performance bolt-ons out on the track for an hour and when he came back in he was all smiles.

As for the head itself – here’s what you get.
