KTM and Laine Top Quad Class in Tunisia
Lionel Laine ran a blistering pace and dominated the quad class at the Rally OiLibya of Tunisia 2009. Besting all other competitors, Lionel rode his KTM 525 XC ATV masterfully and is a top runner in the World Championship series.
With a bit of team work, Lionel helped ensure a podium finish for fellow KTM rider Camelia Liparoti (2nd place), making it a top 2 for KTM.
Coming from a 3rd place finish at the recent Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, an event he won the year before, Laine has confirmed his commitment to following the championship series. His recent dominance in the Rally of Tunisia a sign of things to come and you can expect to see his name at the top of the leader boards in the coming events.
“It was an awesome event for us and the KTM 525 XC ATV never let me down. The quad’s reliability and speed were exactly what I needed. And I am very thankful for the help of the KTM Factory mechanics for their help and support. Though it was a tough rally, I enjoyed every minute of it and I look forward to the coming rallies,” says Lionel.
The overall ranking of the looks currently very satisfying from KTM’s point of view with 3 KTM riders forming the leading pack:
Results
1. Lionel LAINE 45 pts - KTM
2. Camelia LIPAROTI 36 pts - KTM
3. Sebastian HUSSEIN 25 pts – KTM
