Does Your Quad Need New Bearings?
A GOOD WAY TO MAKE sure your quad stays strong is to check for wheel bearing damage. It’s easy and could save you a lot of trouble down the trail. Grab the top of one of your quad’s front wheels and wiggle it back and forth. If there is any play in the tire, it’s an indication that it will need a bearing replacement. This could possibly be the easiest check on your quad and could ultimately be the most important!

Greasing The Seal

Keep Your Airbox Water Free
IF YOU DO ANY EXTREME MUD or water riding on your ATV (and we hope you do), you need to seal your quad’s airbox lid. A good bead of axle grease around the entire sealing surface of the airbox will keep any water from entering. Don’t use silicone or any other substance, stick to using fresh axle grease every time you open the airbox.

Radiator Clean Up

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT tasks to keep your ATV running in tip-top shape is a clean radiator. After a major mud bath, washing your ATV’s radiator is not effective enough. Washing the radiator while it’s still in the ATV can leave large sections full of mud, which means it’s not flowing cool air. To really do the job right, remove the radiator and spray through it thoroughly. If water bounces back at you, the radiator is still dirty. When the water flows through the entire radiator smoothly, it is properly cleaned. Avoid using a pressure washer as it can easily fold the fins closed, blocking cool air passages.

Your Quad Will Thank You!
ONE OF THE MOST OVERLOOKED parts on a quad is the CV boot. While airboxes, tires, and engines get plenty of attention, these important rubber boots rarely get the once-over. To make sure your quad’s CV boot is in good working order, look for cracks and pin holes after each ride to ensure your machine is properly protected. Also make sure you clean the CV boot thoroughly to avoid any problems.
