Enrico and I just got back from a few days of sand tire testing at the beach, man do we have tough jobs or what. We recently spent a couple days riding at the Oceano Dunes OHV park, while we try to make a good time out of most of our trips, it’s hard to believe how much work it is to test and evaluate more than six different sets of sand tires. Even tougher yet is to do it in only a few days.

While the families enjoyed a quick mini-vacation at the beach, our test riders and I spent a pair of long days riding and swapping through more tires than normal people go through in a lifetime. Along with tire testing, we were able to test and shoot one what was one of the strongest running project bikes I’ve ever built.

On our second day of testing the boys from RIS Designs brought out a killer-looking old school drag 250R to play with. While the dunes were pretty chopped up and rough for a drag bike, we were able to find some relatively smooth sand in the flats for some cool launch photos and rocket like passes.
