Many off-road race organizations, like the SCORE desert series, ask for a rider’s blood type and medical allergies. If you’re out riding and you get knocked unconscious, it’s hard to tell an EMT what allergies and conditions you have due to the fact that you’re down for the count. So, in case of a knock-out, put a sticker on the back of your helmet listing your pertinent information: allergies, blood type, even an emergency contact if you’d like. Hopefully you’ll never need it, but it just might save your life!
