Take a look at 8 of Quad’s wildest Charge photos! Charge is the first photo spread in the magazine, and the awesome action and epic scenery of these shots set the tone for all the great content that follows them. We think these photos are certainly worth a second look…and a third…and a fourth….and, well, you get the picture.
The Rookie Rides Yellow (December 2006)
Photograph by Enrico Pavia
This shot appeared in Quad’s issue #9, which was dated December 2006. This was before Wimmer earned that No. 1 plate he has bolted to his ATV now. The caption read: “Big news in the racing world—up and coming Pro rider Dustin Wimmer has joined Team Suzuki/Yoshimura and will be pitting out of the same semi as seasoned vet Doug Gust. Wimmer battled with Gust until the very last race in the WPSA series and is seen by many as a champion in the making.” Champion in the making, indeed!
Get Out of the Way! (May 2007)
Photograph by Enrico Pavia
This Charge shot appeared in Quad’s May 2007 issue and was unlike (and still is) anything we’ve seen in the magazine. From the plaid shirt to the big ol’ paddle tires in the back, this Kawi is a one of a kind. The caption written for this photo was: “What do you get when you stuff a turbocharged Acura car engine inside the frame of a Kawasaki KFX700? An Acura FX? A KFX-Cura? Honestly, it really doesn’t matter what it’s called. We’re just going to call it “that thing that looks insanely fast and can probably throw a roost from coast to coast.” Actually, we could probably try to come up with a shorter name than that, but you get the idea. Owner Frank Prock (a retired top-fuel drag racer) is seen here opening up his mean machine at the first round of the NSDA Sand Drags at the Soboba Indian Casino in San Jacinto, CA. Frank ran the 300-foot course in only 3.98 seconds!” We love it when people think “outside the box” with ATVs. I guess, in this case, Frank thought outside the stock!
