Triumph Motorsport’s Pro Racers Finish 1 & 2
at the ITP Quad Cross Series
This past weekend in Surprise, Arizona, at Speed world MX Park, Justin Noss finished second in the 450 Production Pro Class, and Keith Tebeau finished first in the Open Pro Class. Both Racers have been riding for Triumph Motorsports all season and have been a great reflection of the higher standard of racing that Triumph Motor Sports holds.
Pro Production 450 class in Arizona a slightly smaller field of only 12 pro riders showed up, but with all the top competition still attending. Moto one Justin Noss didn’t quite get the jump off the gate as he needed for the holes hot but ended up in a good third position after the first turn behind Dustin Nelson and Jermie Warnia. With Warnia making a mistake on lap two Noss was able to capitalize and take over second all the way to the finish line and only 4-5 seconds behind Nelson. Moto two was a similar start with the same top three in the same order. With all of them very close on the first lap, Warnia once again blew off the track and Noss was able to make a pass and into second again. Warnia this moto, however, was able to recover quite fast and would put the pressure on the entire eight remaining laps. Noss’ pace was fast and consistent and he didn’t give an inch and it was the battle of the weekend all the way to the checkers to go 2-2 for the day. Once again finishing around 4-5 seconds behind Dustin Nelson, who is now, the current point’s leader in the series. Everyone is very pleased with the performance of a second overall and the outcome of the weekend and feel Noss is back on the right track and ready to get a win.
In the Open Pro Class moto 1 Keith Tebeau didn’t hook up coming out of the gate as well as he wanted to, but his Honda 450R seemed to pull just fine down the straight away putting him into second after the first corner right behind Jeremy Warnia. Keith managed to stay fairly close to him for about three laps then Warnia slowly began to pull away from him which Warnia would extend the gap to about a 3-4 second lead, while Johnny Shafe kept the pressure on Keith. Jeremy stalled it a few corners from the checkered flag which allowed Keith to close the gap but Warnia still managed to recover quickly and hold onto the first spot while Keith Tebeau finished second.
Before the Open Pro Moto 2 Team Can-Am had some complications during their 450 Pro Production race which left Jeremy Warnia out for moto two in the Open Pro class. The start of moto 2, Keith came around the first corner with the hole shot, Johnny Shafe was holding on strong to inside going down the straight away towards the far back corner of the first turn. Coming out of that corner Keith was able to hold onto the lead. Keith having a flawless moto put him in a lead of 2-3 seconds over Johnny Shafe, with Dennis Capogni finishing right behind him who kept the heat on the whole moto.
Congratulations to Justin and Keith. Keep up all the hard work!
