Can-Am announced their team roster for the 2010 ATV MX season, and it might be a bit of a shock to Kawasaki fans. One of the three racers Team Motoworks/Can-Am signed for next year is Chad Wienen, who rode to a third-place-overall finish in 2009 for the Team Green factory effort.

Wienen was a contender for the championship in 2009, putting himself on the podium a handful of times. He’s consistantly fast and a contender whenever he’s on a quad. Wienen has already had a chance to ride the Motoworks/Can-Am DS 450, and had this to say: “I’ve had some seat time on the ATV and was immediately comfortable on it. And let me tell you, lap times don’t lie: I’m faster. Next season is going to be a great one for me and everyone on the Motoworks team. This is a great opportunity for me,“ says Wienen.
Returning to the team will be former national champ John Natalie, who had been piloting the DS 450 for the past two years on the Warnert Racing/Can-Am team. The “Ironman” finished twice on the podium in 2009. “First I would like to thank BRP for its passion and commitment to ATV racing. I am big-time impressed by the Motoworks organization so far and cannot wait to start working on a championship. The team wants to win as bad as Chad, Jeremie and I want to win. I am going into 2010 with confidence,” comments Natalie.
The team will be rounded out with Jeremie Warnia, from France, who raced part-time in the national series last year but will be full time for 2010. “Last year was my first racing full time in the United States, so this season I know exactly what to expect and know I will have to train hard this off season. I can’t wait for the season to begin!” says Warnia.
“BRP is committed to ATV racing and we look forward to watching these three racers be successful on the DS 450 next season,“ says Denis Morin, Vice President Product Development and Racing at BRP. “All three of these racers bring exceptional talent to the motocross track and will be backed by one of the strongest racing teams in the industry; everyone at BRP is excited.“
Motoworks team owner Johnny Leach is confident going into next season: “Never has there been a time since we got started that I have had more confidence going into a race season. Last year we learned a lot at the motocross nationals, and this year I expect to win. After initial testing with John, Chad and Jeremie, I am extremely excited with the results,” says Leach.
John Natalie and Chad Wienen will make their Team Motoworks / Can-Am debut on the DS 450 EFI ATV at the Montreal Supercross on October 3. They will take on Pro riders from across North America in Montreal’s Olympic Stadium that evening.

Every time he signs he claims how he really wants to stay with that team but jumps to another. He is a really good racer, but I would have really liked to see him stay with Kawasaki. I hope he knows what he's doing. Maybe the money was better or he couldn't fit in with some of the Kawasaki family? I know Can Am's are nice quads, but I am not a big fan of them. I don't like the looks of them at all. Can Am has a serious race team though, I will give them that. We'll see how this move works out.

so many people are so quick to judge. if you really knew him you know he wants to find a team that he can stay with for an extended period of time. ask yourself this, if you were under contract and didnt know if it was going to be renewed and another company gave you a better offer would you turn it down not knowing if your current contract was going to be renewed? that would not be a smart decision with the way the economy is today. you have to take what you get. after all this is his career and he has to do what is best for him and his future!

Kawi isnt going to have a factory team in 2010. The rumor is that Josh Creamer will probably be riding for DRT Racing. Im sure Chad would have stayed with Kawi if they didnt get rid of there factory team.
Mad props to Can Am though for sticking with it when other manufacturers are stepping down. I think this may be Can Ams year. With Wienen, Natalie, and Warnia they will have a really got shot at getting a championship. They also hired Ryan Cox, who is an extremely good mechanic. Im sure he will keep the Can Ams from getting DNFs.
GO CAN AM!!!

I didn't know Kawasaki wasn't going to have a team next year. If that's true it would have been smart to add that in the main article and people would have immediately understood the switch.

let me tell you something about wienen. I have seen first hand that chad is much faster and confident with his new ride! Kawi is not gonna have a team for 2010 that's why he switched! Can-Am is his match to be on top. And with TWO holeshot titles and one win the proof is in the pudding my friends! need i say more, Oh and btw he looks great on a 90 mod, i seen it
