WORCS Round #5: (6-7-09): Toutle, Wa-
Motowork’s/Can-AM’s WORCS team arrived in Toutle, Wa, about 70 miles north of the Oregon border to take on Rnd #5 of the 2009 World Off-road Championship Series. With the absence of team captain Josh Frederick due to injury, last years’ teammate and this years’ MX boy Brandon Smith would sit in and make a cameo for the 2009 WORCS series. Also attending was the ever fast and upcoming Jeremie Warnia (War-knee-eh), as press guy for Motoworks, I finally have it down. Warnia was blistering fast as usual but had problems getting used to the trees, but finished a very respectable 2nd place on the day. Meanwhile, Smith rode well too. He got tangled off the start with Polaris’s Doug Eichner, but remounted and climbed back. Soon after Brandon would suffer shock problems and then drew the black flag for entering hot pits backwards. Smith was disappointed needless to say, but he rode strong and we look to see him again in the series. Dillon Zimmerman would take his first second place in the Pro-Am. Look for Dillon to come back strong at Straddleline.
‘This weekend was better for us, thats for sure. With Josh out, these guys are showing heart and keeping consistent. Jeremie rode really well, Brandon just had a mishap, he’s been racing MX and dealt with an off-road rule this week that set him back with the hot pit rule. Dillon was riding excellent, but had to settle for second after a pit stop that cost him a position. It was nothing on our end, Davi just rode well and those two are doing some serious battle.” Ty Zimmerman of Motoworks
ITP Round #4: (6-13-09): Surprise, Az-
Motoworks had another frustrating weekend at ITP. While Jeremie Warnia rode well to a third O/A, teammate and Production Exp rider-Dillon Zimmerman suffered major injuries following a horrific crash during the Saturday program. A complete press release will follow soon. Congratulations to Jeremie Warnia for staying in the points and giving Motoworks another ITP podium this past weekend.
