The 400 might be a good deal but your never gonna get the power and performance you can out of a KFX.. I own a KFX and a girl on our team rides a trx 400… WORLD of difference.. she raced mine and did amazingly good.. she loved the power and throttle response.. the only way to go is a 450.. wether it be a can-am MX version or a stock KFX, YFZ, KTM or LTZ… go with the 450..!

First thing that I have to ask you is how much experience do you have, where do you ride and is speed a real issue. I've been around quite a few machines and all in all the 400 honda is a very reliable and managable machine. If you do a lot of woods riding like my crew and I do the faster race machines are a handfull. I ride a 87 trx 250R and after a few hours of riding I feel it. The kfx is a very capable machine in the open and on tracks but it will wear you out charging through the woods. One of my brothers had to have the 450 Kawi after a good long ride he is ready to swap his wife for the EX. Upkeep on both machines are very important to say the least but one of the noticeable problems with the Kawisaki is that the plastic and fueltank have to be removed to change the plug. The 400 may not be the flashy new machine on the showroom floor but if you want a machine that has stood the test of time it has earned the title “Most Reliable Sport ATV on the Market” years running.
